Our aim is to stimulate interest in and equip the children with the skills to explore nature and societies around the world.
Global Village Montessori preschool's core Montessori curriculum encompasses five areas:
Practical Life: Here the children develop order, coordination, concentration, and independence. These include the care of self, care of the environment, and grace and courtesy.
Sensorial Area: With the use of Montessori designed materials, children refine and organize their sensory perceptions. Children learn to develop sensory impressions of the world around them.
Language: Children are exposed to various phonetic components that constitute the English language. They progress using concrete materials which aid them in developing their reading skills.
Math: The importance of one's sense of order is emphasized in the development of the mathematical mind. Manipulative materials are used to allow children to discover abstract mathematical ideas through concrete models.
Cultural and Science: In this area the children learn about the world around them
Besides these areas, we strive to focus on a child's physical, emotional and creative development. Our play areas (indoor and outdoor) stimulate physical activity, team building and relationship building among children. Our teachers treat children as individuals with unique personalities and guide them to develop emotionally. In addition, we have a number of activities throughout the day that allow a child to explore their creative expression and learn other life lessons. Some of these activities include Music and Movement, Arts, Crafts, Yoga, Gardening, Cooking (Little Chef program) and Nutrition awareness. Call us to schedule a tour to find out more about our preschool.
