Summer at Global Village Montessori is always full of great fun and surprises. We started the 2017 summer with different themes weekly. We explored Hawaii and learned about volcanoes. We experienced camping by spending time in our classroom tent and resting in our sleeping bags. We explored nature by understanding about living and nonliving and naming insects.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are our water play days. We came to school with our swimming suits and enjoyed the ultimate fun splashing the water with our friends.

One of our favorite weeks is the “Little Chef” week. We discussed about different healthy food, and we decided to make our special “shortbread cookies”. First, we searched the recipe and found out what ingredients we needed. Then we went through the cooking steps. The next day, we gathered everything and all helped pour the ingredients in the bowl, mixing, rolling and cutting the dough. Our very first homemade shortbread cookies were just so yummy!

We did several other fun activities. We can’t believe that now it is nearly the end of the summer. How fast was that! The new school year will begin on August 14th. We have a lot of things planned for the new school year. Children’s learning experience will be enriched in all areas, such as, language, math, science, art, music, practical life, sensory, and culture, etc. We are looking forward to starting the new learning journey with our lovely children at GVM!
